Meet MaryKate

Candidate for state representative district 18a

Meet MaryKate

MaryKate was raised by a single mom, and acquired her work ethic, and grit from her. The oldest of six kids, she grew up in Boise for part of her youth, and then moved away for a period. She came back to Idaho early in her adult years, to raise a family and build a life. Some fond memories of growing up in Idaho were playing hide n seek in the corn field behind her house, riding ATV’s through a family friends sod farm, playing outside till dark, and coming home for dinner when you heard mom’s whistle, and summer nights eating ice cream at Delsa’s Ice Cream Parlor.

She is married to her husband Tucker a USMC veteran. They have three boys; Donovan, Duke, and Hank who are the absolute joys of their life. Having had her oldest son while in college was rewarding but not without hardships. Being a single parent of a biracial child, makes you have a different view of the world. You get a little more protective after becoming aware of how truly harsh the world can be. More than ever the values she was raised on; Faith, Family, and Freedom were so important.

Professionally MaryKate has been in banking for over twenty years and continues to have a successful banking career. Working for a community bank was important to her. Keeping decisions local makes for a successful Idaho economy. As the Private Banking relationship manager in Idaho, she works firsthand with business owners, and consumers in the Treasure Valley and throughout Idaho.

Nonprofit volunteer work will always play an important part of her life. From serving on several boards, annual teaching engagements for financial literacy to elementary kids, to Rake up Boise, Paint A Thon and more, she is always willing to give of her time, talent, or treasure. Most recently she has been a board member of Go Lead Idaho for the last seven years. MaryKate hopes to enter her next step of public service in the Legislature as House Representative for District 18A. She chose to run, to give more diverse representation to the district, and focus on key issues facing our state.
